027S-05671 Training workshop on advanced methods in plant virus diagnostics - from disease phenotypes to virus genome diversity
We invite scientists from research institutions, plant protection organizations and universities working in the field of plant health for a training workshop on modern tools in plant virus diagnostics. Ten participants from all regions of the world will be participating in a five-day workshop to gain insights into the detection and characterization of plant viruses - from biological assays to serological and molecular tests, including high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics. The aim of this workshop is to enable researchers in leading positions to set up diagnostic routines for virus-indexing of propagation materials and discovery of new viruses. The workshop will be held from 13th to 17th of May 2024 at the Plant Virus Department, Leibniz Institute -DSMZ in Braunschweig, Germany.

I would like to apply for the free of charge trans-national access (EVAg-TNA) to attend the workshop “Advanced methods in plant virus diagnostics” offered by the Leibniz Institute DSMZ (Braunschweig, Germany) from 13th to 17th of May 2024. As a professor in the Department of plant pathology at the Faculty of Agronomy of the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in Lima, Peru, I am honored to lead the Plant Virus Laboratory. Within this facility, our primary focus is on diagnosing viral diseases that impact key crops within our nation.
The training will support my activities in diagnosing viral diseases, transferring knowledge to colleagues and students of agronomy and phytopathology, as well as in the implementation of the virology laboratory where bioinformatics programs are used for HTS data analysis.
Further, the attendance of scientists from different Countries makes the workshop a unique opportunity for interaction and networking with colleagues of renowned institutions dealing with diagnostics and plant health.
Thank you in advance for considering my application.
