Latent and/or unknown viruses, which can also have a significant impact on yield and product quality, remain unidentified. Especially in vegetative propagation material, this inevitably leads to the accumulation of such pathogens. High-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics analysis offers a global analysis of the phytosanitary status of plants. This allows reliable detection of such infections and the establishment of healthy crops for a sustainable and productive agriculture.
